Cohen's Program at Dayspring Christian Academy

After moving to New Braunfels, it took us a very long time, but we found Cohen a great day school. They were just awarded by the state of Texas, the #1 day school in San Antonio and surrounding areas. Cohen had his Program at his day school this evening and it was very cute. Since he attends a Christian Academy, the songs were great up beat religious songs. All of the children sang Awesome God-they always sing this at chapel every Wednesday. Cohen is lucky since his teacher is the chapel teacher. His class song was Jesus is our Superhero; they wore capes and it was very cute. I wanted to share some photos.

Kyleigh's 1st Grade Photos

Here is K's 1st grade photos. She sure is growing up faster than we ever thought.

Sick Cohen

So I was up all night with a whiny, grumpy little man. When we got up for school, I noticed Cohen was not looking too good and clearly had a fever. I took him to the doctor and was told he has strep. This is his 4th time this year and it sucks. It is very hard for him to not eat and drink after us as well as buying a new toothbrush and washing/cleaning everything. So I got his medicine and we went to get breakfast where he did not eat a thing. Then I let him choose a few movies to rent since he needed to lay and rest all day. Well, while I was cleaning, he continued to mope around and tell me that he and nails in the back of his mouth(poor thing). I began to clean and before I knew it, he was asleep in a random spot on the floor. These pics show how miserable he felt today. I hope he feels better tomorrow so that we are not stuck inside when it is so pretty outside. I have also noticed that when he gets sick, it is always on the weekend; what bad timing.

Here are two fun pics of the kids and i taking our own pictures:)

Trip to Corpus

So Shaun decided we needed to take a little trip to the beach this weekend. It did not start great since I was supposed to leave work early to go and get Cohen who we had not seen in a week. I ended getting stuck at work and Shaun had to go get him. Let me tell you I miss my kids when they are not around but love the break, however, this last break was way too long. I could hardly talk on Friday without crying and when I did not get to leave as expected, it was even worse. So, we finally left and got there around 5:30. We went to the beach all three days. We drove out to the National Sea Shore and Mustang Island. The kids really love the water and the sand. They wanted to stay there forever, however, you can only handle so much of sand and salt water. Sat. night Shaun and Cohen went fishing and were not too successful but it gave Kyleigh and me some time to stay in the hotel and play Skipbo. We also went to some of the fun stores on Padre and the kids each picked out a boogie board. That was the most fun; watching them try to use it. One interesting thing we saw was when we arrived at the beach Friday night, we noticed some huge kites in the air. As we drove closer, we realized they were not kites; they were huge kite looking things attached to a surfboard. The surfer would maneuver it and it would take him about 30 mile and hour over the water. Some of them even went in the air about 25-40 feet high. They were very cool and we hope to get to do it some day.

Cinco de Mayo Fun

So in celebration of Cinco, our friends asked us to go to the dance down at the Cinco De Mayo celebration in San Marcos. It was a lot of fun. We are getting pretty good at tejano and cumbia dancing. Shaun especially likes it, however, I now understand why a lot of hispanics have tiny legs; their dancing wears you out and you never know when their songs are going to end. I swear most of the songs were 10+ minutes long. Los Desperadoes played which also played at David and Annie's wedding. They were great even if we could not tell what they were saying. So I took a few pictures of our good ole pals after the dance while we were waiting in a Wendy's drive through at 2 in the morning. Shaun and I have decided we can only go out like we used to about once a month. We are so getting old.

Here are a few pictures of Cohen posing at a local restaurant while we were waiting for my car to get detailed. He is very photogenic and I wonder if he really enjoys it or just likes the attention. I will say though, he wants to see every picture that I take of him. He will make some woman happy one day with great family photos.
