Weekend Gardening

My neighbor and K and me decided it was time to get some plants with color for spring. We drove down to C & J Nursery in Martindale and bought a ton of plants. Here is how it all turned out. Shaun and I enjoyed sitting on the porch this evening looking at how nice it turned out. Now I have to be patient and let some of them get fuller!

Night Out with Best Friends

So we went out Saturday night with our best friend couple, Annie and David. We went to Texas Roadhouse and tehn to Cowboys Dance Hall. It was a blast. Dancing is the best thing to connect with your man! Thought I would share some pics!

Birthday Weekend

So I had the best weekend ever. I was surprised by my hubby on Friday night with a spa day at The Retreat here in New Braunfels. I was pampered with a manicure, 1.5 hour pedi, and a Swedish Massage. The entire pampering lasted from 9 am to 2 pm. I could so get used to that (not a good thing). Then I came home to find my husband and son with balloons all over the house, 30 purple ones. As I walked in, I saw tulips on the table, 3 huge vases, 30 tulips as well (guess you know how old I am turning). Then I noticed this beautiful cake with dipped strawberries sitting there as well. He totally made me a Red-Velvet cake FROM SCRATCH including homemade cream cheese icing and covered strawberries. I was totally surprised and had no idea he aws doing this. He is very sneaky:), in a good way. Then he gave me a present and card. He even wrote me a poem. Such a closet romantic. I opened my present and it was a box that said Jared, and he wrote above it, He went to... He took my wedding ring and bands and had them sized (they were too big for me), cleaned, and soldered. They look brand spanking new and I love them. God has been good to me for allowing me to share this amazing guy and I am proud to call him my husband and the father of my children. I love you honey. You made me feel like a Queen for a day. I could never have asked for anything else. I got to spend the weekend with the most important people in my life:):)

Weight Loss Update

So I have lost a total of 37 pounds:) I am very excited about this, however I want to continue to hold myself accountable to keep losing so I have started to use a calorie counter website that is free and very similar to Weight Watchers, but it's free. So I thought I would share a pic from a year ago and now.

MonsterJan

So here are a few pictures from the MonsterJam we went to from Cohen and Shaun's birthday. It was a blast. A little bit loud, at first but them we got into it. There was a crazy set of guys in front of us from the Air Force and they were a lottle annoying. They would scream and yell when they wrecked and somehow they would spit all over the place. That was really the only bad part of the entire thing. Best of all, the kids loved it.

More Polar Express Pictures

The Polar Express

So we went on The Polar Express last night and it was the best thing we have ever done. I would highly recommend it if you are in Durango, CO around Chrismas time. Once we got on, they were given tickets and the ticket man came through and punched holes through them on each child, then they gave them a cookie and hot cocoa while we went through the snowy mountains and along the river. About halfway through, while they were reading the book over the intercom, we stopped at the North Pole. There were lights and elves and Santa. Then we picked up Santa and each child received a silver bell from him as we sang carols. We had a great time and I wanted to share pictures.

Happy Birthday to Cohen

So we made Cohen's birthday cake this morning and I scheduled an awesome evening for the kids. We are going on The Polar Express tonight. It is a steam engine train ride through the snowy mountains for 1 1/2 hours. During the ride, they read the book and everybody gets hot cocoa and a cookie. About half way through the ride, they pick up Santa and he hands out a silver bell to every child. I am not telling them where we are going, it is going to be a surprise:)

Discing

So we just came in from discing and it was so much fun. It was more fun than anything else we have done so far. We had to first hike up the hill which was about 3 feet deep in snow so we are sinking every time we step and I think the heavier you are the deeper you sink. Once we got up the hill, we let them go and they flew down the hill. Later we went to another area on the hill and it has a small hill in the middle of the path so you would gain some air. That one was the most fun except Cohen went face first one time and when I went, I was going so fast, it blew off my hat.
